Testimonies:

“The Dance Project has been a phenomenal dance studio for my SON who wanted to dance!  His dream is a career on the Broadway stage and he began in the Musical Theatre class.  In just a few short months, he joined a tap class.   His first year was so fantastic that he added a jazz class and is also studying ballet.  He has been nurtured and pushed as a student who started as a late beginner and has absolutely THRIVED at the Dance Project.  You will not find a better studio to encourage our male dance students than the Dance Project!” -Michelle Strain

“I knew from the moment that I met Tara Brewer, the dance instructor, that she and her studio was the right fit for my daughter and my family (yes, my family too!).  My daughter was just coming off sitting out a year after 6 years of dance because her previous school had extinguished her passion for the art.  We met Tara in summer theater as she was opening her studio.  My girl fell in love with Tara and said, “Mom, I want to dance for Ms. Tara.”  We’ve never looked back.  Here we are, going on our 9th (and Senior) year with The Dance Project.  This studio has done so much for my kiddo and not just in the dance world.  They have given her confidence to try new things and shown her how to be “dance” self-sufficient.  They’ve taught her to be a leader and given her a voice through dance….all through the hard teenage years.  It does take a village and I’m so glad the DP Family has been there along the way.

Speaking of family, my dad had not been to a SINGLE recital in all of her dance years.  Tara promised the recital would be 2 hours tops….SHE DELIVERS every year with a speedy recital for the “dads”.  My dad looks forward to the recital Every. Year!!  He loves her choice in music, especially.   My mom will pay any amount of money to see the show.  She’s always first in line for seats and ticket sales (until we could reserve seats ahead).

I love that Tara has a vision for her students, the families and the community.  She encourages them to give back and make a difference; whether it be from a Color Run for Charity, a city-wide clean up or having her dancers tour Senior Centers to perform for them.  One (other) thing I love about Tara, is she’s humble enough to admit when something isn’t working.  She’s flexible (where she can be) and willing to try new things in order to keep the experience as familiar as possible… Hello 2020! There are moments of uncertainty, like with any business but she’s honest, upfront and fair with her students and families.

Do yourself, your family and your dancer(s) a favor and join the Dance Project Family. " -Ashley Palestina

“Sending my daughter to The Dance Project was one of the best and easiest decisions we've made. Ms. Tara and her staff are not only knowledgeable in their field, but are encouraging, caring, and inspiring to their students. My daughter has grown immensely as a dancer in 2 short years, but has also gained confidence in herself. Ms. Tara teaches not only dance, but also character, and gives each of her students exactly what they need inside and outside of the studio. The friends my daughter has made and role models she has to look up to are a blessing. Ms. Tara protects her students and always puts their safety and well-being first. We cherish our DP family and highly recommend The Dance Project to anyone looking for a place for their children.” -Celia Guillory

“I can’t say enough good things about this place! My daughter has grown tremendously in skill, technique, talent, and most importantly, in her confidence! The teachers encourage the students and challenge them to be the BEST dancer, leader, and person they can be! The environment is family oriented and always positive. I truly can say The Dance Project has supported my job as a parent… They love their dancers and help shape them into young, respectful and amazing dancers!”- Kelly Pizza

“Switching dance studios was not an easy decision for us. My daughter had been with her previous studio for 4 years. She had always wanted to audition for their company group, but we just could not make it work. It wasn't the right fit. After 4 years, I also felt like she had not progressed much; not as she should have. I had heard wonderful things about The Dance Project and after much thought and discussion, we decided to take a leap of faith. She auditioned for DP company and made it. Two weeks in, we are on our way home from a practice one night and with tears in her eyes she says from the back seat, "Mom, I know I was scared, but thank you! Thank you so much for deciding to switch dance studios. I feel like I can be myself and they love me for who I am." Y'all...all the feels. I was elated. She loves her peers, she loves Tara and staff and everything that they and the studio stand for. There are no cliques, there isn't a "mean girl" vibe- they are a family.  The Dance Project felt like home to her. It gave her something that I nor her even knew she needed. As a dancer, she has grown leaps and bounds since August. It has been incredible and I am so thankful and proud. We look forward to her future with The Dance Project. -Erika Cheramie

“Tara and all of the teachers and staff at The Dance Project have shown so much grace, patience, and extreme organization during this past year.  Amidst pandemic and closures their plans to move forward with dance classes and performances were innovative and effective.  To quote my 8 year old:  “Dance makes me feel so good about myself.”  We thank you, Dance Project!” -Erin Wright

“Five years ago, I enrolled my daughter at The Dance Project to give her something to keep her busy and active, and because it was recommended by so many friends. Fast forward 5 years and it is our second home. My daughter has not only grown in her dance ability by leaps and bounds, but she knows she is loved, cared for, and encouraged to strive to be a better dancer everyday. Tara is an amazing dance teacher and mentor to all her girls and we are so blessed to have found her.” -Donna Jones

“The Dance Project has become more than just an extra curricular for our family. Our family considers this studio a place where the whole child is developed while learning the art of dance. In addition,  top notch teachers and performances make it hands down- THE BEST🥰 We are so proud to be DP!” -Alison and Stephen Rhodes

“I can honestly say I have never been disappointed in anything with the Dance Project! The studio, the TEACHERS , the classes offered, the costumes, the music, the recital, the fees, the communication between studio and parent, and everything else is way above par! Our daughter has attended there 4 years, has participated in jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre, and I'm telling you - every need has been met, and then some. If you are looking for somewhere that your child will be encouraged, held to high standards in a POSITIVE way, and will be cared for physically, spiritually, and emotionally, then Dance Project is where you need to be. In a world that can be so mean, hateful, negative, and down right scary - The Dance Project is one place I can drop our daughter off and not worry one bit about her well-being - that says it all! We love Dance Project!!” -Dena Alsup
